Fallout New Vegas Put Away Weapon
So whenever I play fallout or oblivion, I'm always running in weapons blazing and murdering everyone. I thought that in New Vegas, I might try to take the exact opposite approach and play as a stealthy character on my first playthrough (hardcore mode). I'm a little worried that I might get 10 hours in and realize that I made a stupid decision and regret putting so much into being a stealthy character that it might make the game not fun. So here's my crack at what I might have my character focus on: SPECIAL put most into agility, strength and intelligence Skills sneak, melee/unarmed (which one is generally better?), guns, science, speech If anybody has played as a sneaky character and would like to fill me in on any tricks of the trade, that would be greatly appreciated. Stealth characters can be very fun, but you have to enjoy that particular pace.
All Discussions. How do you put away weapons? What I mean is, how can you holster them, and I don't mean switch to my fists. I prefer to put up my. This could have been discovered by a general search or doing the following in-game, or in the main menu screen: Hit escape-Settings- Controls- Key Mappings. Haven’t played in about 2 months due to instability, but from memory, here goes.
It might take a while for you to adjust to that style of play, so it's more than likely you won't like it for a while. I hated my first stealth character in FO3, till I got the sneak attack crit perk. That perk along with the one that refills your VATS meter when you kill an opponent are key to killing a lot of foes quickly with that kind of build.
I still prefer to hang back with a sniper rifle and clean up with a submachine gun up close though. @Vorbis said: ' Playing a 'sniper' crit build with Sneak, Guns, Repair. Focused on Luck, Agility and Perception. I'm sneaking around everywhere and every opening shot is a critical. It's just a shame all the sniper rifles are so rare, so mostly just using rifles modded with a scope.
Sneaking works fine for my build but not sure how well it would go for getting in close. 'Yeah the sniper rifle is annoyingly rare I mean for the VAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST majority of the game I've been using the varmint rifle you get for the tutorial mission with a scope on it. @SteamPunkJin said: ' Until they release a Chinese Steal Suit or equivalent (either perk or armor) I'd say no (but keep in mind I don't own the game).
I didn't find Stealth to be all that easy to pull off in FO3 without that DLC Suit just because you'd still get seen and for obvious reasons you don't get enough Stealth Boys to really cover an entire playthrough. 'The Chinese Stealth Armor is in the game, but it's not gamebreaking like it was in FO3. It only provides +5 Sneak and makes Stealth Boys last longer. No stealth field. @Moridin: That's heartbreaking about the no stealth field. I loved that suit in Fallout 3, it was so OP. I usually play a sneaking character that focuses on Guns.
I like getting the early advantage with the opening shot and then being strong enough to hold my own once the fighting gets cranked up. I usually sneak around in power armor, take sniping shots to start fights, then pull out a handgun or shotgun for the closer fights. As far as points go I tag: Agility, Intelligence, and Luck.
My S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Looks like 5, 5, 5, 5, 8, 6, 6. Strength is a waste to build up unless you are going melee and I don't recommend going melee and guns.
It pays later on in the game to specialize. @MikeHawk said: ' SPECIAL put most into agility, strength and intelligence Skills sneak, melee/unarmed (which one is generally better?), guns, science, speech.
Vehicle simulator money hack 2019. ' I guess I play stealthy. My build is similar to yours but rather than make strength high I went for perception.
Fallout New Vegas Best Guns
I don't grasp the concept of playing this and F03 in melee so I completely ignore everything relating to unarmed or hand-to-hand combat. I've got a thing for pistols in any game that lets me carry a gun, so I completely ignore explosives, energy weapons and any other skill that boosts a weapon other than guns. The build worked well enough for me in FO3 but I've got it down packed from the get go in NV and it's really smooth.
Most of my battles start off with me sneak critical killing two bad guys before they're aware of anything. That's a one hit kill and I have perk that gives me extra AP for killing bad guys in VATS so once the initial two are dead, I still have close to a fool AP bar to play around with any enemies who aren't dead yet. At that point it's a race to see whether my partner can close the distance and do a melee attack or I can switch to a pistol and get close to take out anyone else. In the past they'd be able to land some hits on enemies, but now I can usually take out everyone because of AP perks and high agility.
From experience if you are playing a melee character then stealth goes very well together with it. Mele is even more powerful in F:NV However if you are just planning on sniping from stealth then you don't really need to put points into it. As long as you have high weapons skill and crouch you can headshot enemies from miles away, at that point your stealth stops matering as you are too far anyway. I've been going through F:NV sniping Deathclaws in broad daylight with Power armor on. There are some quests and situations where stealth is very useful, however these can all be covered by the amount of stealth-boys you find in the game. @Redjoker said: ' Its sounds odd but I set my charisma to 1 and just tag speech.
Since there's no extra effect on charisma other then skill benefits and no checks that use it you don't really need it. What you could use is more strength for carry weight or agility for AP. What I found though is even with 100% sneak,a silencer, and distance b/t me and my target I still get seen every now and then. 'Your companions benefit greatly from your charisma. Each point in charisma gives all companions +5 dmg and +5 DT At 10 CH that's +50 dmg and +50 DT.
If you leave the cell NPCs are in for 3 days they won't be hostile to you anymore. Exceptions are obviously people who were hostile towards you from the get-go and people who are angry at you due to faction relationships (Legion and NCR for example will shoot on sight if you're vilified and past the point of redemption wiht both factions) as well as NPCs that are scripted to attack you (Barton close to Goodsprings to name one example)Also, as others have already said you can stop fights you didn't want to start by putting away your weapon.
