Hi, I am going to install uninstall Far Cry 3 and install it on my brothers computer since mine is incompatible to play the game on high settings. I have got like 50% into the game so far and I don't want to loose my game-save. So what file/folders do I backup? Make sure Far Cry 3 isn't open when you're replacing the save files, and you can try turning off cloud file sharing through Uplay if you run into any issues. I don't know when it happened, but Far Cry 3 no longer contains game saves where it used to. They used to be located in a hard to find location, and were.sav files rather than.save files. I don't know when it changed, but it appears that they've made them unsharable among users? It might be user error, but if I can get them all to work, I don't see how they're not accessible to everyone.The problem people are running into is that even when the save file is in the right folder, with nothing else, the game will not detect it, and only give them the option to start a new game. I don't know why this is happening, but other people have tried to convince me that I saved the wrong files.The majority of the files I uploaded are autosave files, rather than manually saved files.
This is because a majority of the missions drop you off in an area you cannot save in, yet there's always an autosave after the last mission ends. If autosave files don't work, than there's no way something like this can be compiled, and Ubisoft's going to have to get smart and realize we want to replay missions without starting the entire single player over.Once again, these work for me, so they should work for everybody. I haven't received any posts anywhere confirming that these work for other people, so I'm prepared to be extremely disappointed when you tell me they don't work for you either.Just so you're aware, make sure you follow all the directions, and try turning cloud sharing off through Uplay.
